From Bold to Breezy: Beginning a California-Inspired Home Transformation

Every project begins with listening. When I first walked into this home, I was immediately struck by its character and its bold red kitchen. While it held charm in its own way, it didn’t reflect the light, airy lifestyle my clients envisioned. To capture that breezy, modern coastal home decor​ feel, we knew natural light had to take center stage. We discussed reworking the kitchen layout, incorporating lighter cabinetry, and softening the palette with tones that would complement an open flow. Our goal is to trade heavy, saturated color for layered neutrals, adding in bold colors in other ways, and textures that invite calm while still feeling elevated.
