Interior design is a dynamic field with certain trends fading from the scene annually, or even seasonally. Today, we are taking a look at the design elements that are phasing out of use from 2022 (and for good reason!) while looking forward to some beautiful trends in 2023 that just make sense.
Enjoy — and let me know if you’d like to see some of these outdated trends in your home updated for the long term.
Depending on where you get your design information, you might hear that statement / accent walls are outdated and that what is done on one wall should be done on all walls.
However, other designers believe statement walls are in like never before, largely due to the increased need for a Zoom-worthy background, especially in home offices.
My opinion (so glad you asked) is that certain trends are timeless in certain situations. If you need a statement wall in your office or prefer to have wallpaper on only one wall in your bedroom, go for it.
Don’t do it or not do it because it’s a trend. Do it because you want it. (I’ll help you figure out the details of this. Just hit “reply” to get started.)
